Pack 378 - Scouting for Food - 2008

Scouting for food is a Nation Wide Boy & Cub Scout Project.

It is the annual food drive to help replenish food banks.

Grand Canyon Council will be sending all food collected to the Saint Vincent De Paul Food Warehouse in Phoenix.

Pack 378 will participate in the food drive this year, as we have done in the past.

The Pack will supply empty bags with instruction sheets attached, and maps of the area that each Den needs to cover.

Our whole Pack will cover the area bound by Lakeshore to McClintock, Guadalupe to Baseline.

The pickup date and time is fixed for Saturday, February 2nd.

The food we pick up must be brought to the collection point by Noon on that day.

The empty bags need to be delivered at least one day before they are picked up, but too far ahead will result in the homeowners forgetting.

Each Den will decide the best day and time within the week ahead of pickup, to do their bag drop offs.

What Pack 378 will do:

* At the Pack Meeting on Jan.23rd, All Den Leaders need to pickup their bags, and map from Margie
* Then, Your Den will distribute your empty bags to the area shown on your map BEFORE Saturday, Feb. 2nd
* On Saturday, Feb. 2nd, your Den will go back out and collect the filled bags that are left outside for you.
* Your Den will consolidate the food the Den has collected and deliver it to the drop off site before noon.

 * At NO time should ANY boys be out of sight of a parent
 * All tigers should have their parent along side
 * No one should ever enter any stranger's home
 * Drop off and pick up by your Den should be performed in daylight
 * Bags dropped off should be hung on doorknobs or placed on welcome mat

Once food is collected for your Den, please bring it to either:
 * LDS Tempe South Stake - 1111 E. Knox Rd. (East of Rural on Knox)
 * LDS Tempe Stake - College & Alameda
(Those collection points will be manned up until noon on Sat. Feb. 2nd.)
